Traffic Detour Study: Porto Maravilha – RJ
To estimate future traffic patterns, considering changes in the road infrastructure and urban land use as a result of the Porto Maravilha project, and recommend solutions to any issues detected.
ACTIVITIES DEVELOPED
- Use of databases and information from previous studies, as well as from additional traffic surveys
- Macroscopic modeling of the RMRJ (Metropolitan Region of Rio de Janeiro) network, considering scenarios with project alternatives for the study area
- Microscopic modeling of the critical points in the area directly impacted by the studied alternatives
- Circulation Plan, including the mass transit system and alternatives for non motorized transportation
- Indication of the functional classification of roads, and analysis of the capacity and level of service for the alternatives considered
