A New ‘Zona Leste’ – Study and Development of a Plan to Implement the Celso Garcia Corridor in São Paulo, Brazil

Implementation of a 30-km bus corridor capable of increasing the efficacy of the region’s transportation network, and adding a new urban concept to the area by making adjustments which will contribute to its rejuvenation.

ACTIVITIES DEVELOPED
  • Design traffic zoning as required to facilitate field surveys, transportation demand modeling, and determining the reach of the Urban Operation
  • Review of the social-economic variables used in trip generation models and of the forecasts regarding the pattern of these variables through a 20-year horizon
  • Development of a functional design based on the proposed operational model, diagnostics conducted, and review of existing projects for the study area
  • Detailing elements related to the physical and tariff integration, operational reorganization of the conventional bus system, corridor and feeding systems capacity
